Appraisals are done on-site at Berthet Jewelers. Your jewelry will not leave the store until you pick it up.
Most single items to be appraised can be dropped off in the morning and be picked up that afternoon or the next day, depending on how long it takes to clean your jewelry. Sometimes cleaning your jewelry completely can take hours.

Fees are agreed upon in advance, and are based upon time and work involved. They are in no way contingent upon the estimated values of the appraised items.
Expert Appraisals
You will receive two typewritten copies of the appraisal, one for insurance or estate purposes, the other for your own records. We also keep a copy on file, should you misplace your documents or need updating in the future.
Your jewelry will be checked for loose stones and damaged or worn settings and returned to you cleaned.
Your appraisal will contain a quality analysis of the cutting, color and clarity grades using G.I.A. nomenclature for diamonds and important colored stones along with estimations of weight using mathematical formulations performed while still in the mounting.
